Guidelines for Complying with Building Codes Using ANSI/SPRI ES-1 (Electronic)

Product details

Recently revised, NRCA's publication addresses building code compliance with ANSI/SPRI ES-1, "Wind Design Standard for Edge Systems Used with Low Slope Roofing Systems." This premier document provides guidelines and technical information concerning the design, materials, fabrication and installation of edge-metal flashings for compliance with ANSI/SPRI ES-1 and the applicable requirements of the International Building Code (IBC). It also contains pertinent information from American Society of Civil Engineers' standard ASCE 7, "Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures."

Examples are provided that illustrate procedures for determining design wind-load pressures, design resistance-capacity calculations and using the results to select appropriate edge-metal flashings from NRCA's UL certification program.

This document is best used in conjunction with the applicable editions of ANSI/SPRI ES-1, IBC, ASCE 7 and the Architectural Metal Flashing section of The NRCA Roofing Manual: Architectural Metal Flashing, Condensation and Air Leakage Control, and Reroofing—2014.
