OSHA’s construction crane standard requires employers to “ensure that each operator is trained, certified/licensed and evaluated in accordance with 29 CFR1926.1427," and each operator is “qualified by demonstration of the skills and knowledge, as well as the ability to recognize and avert risk, necessary to operate the equipment safely.”
To help you perform the evaluation, NRCA has developed a simplified form with the precise elements required by OSHA. Complete and save this form for each operator evaluation performed by your company. A printed copy must be maintained at the worksite where the operator is working.
